ASF (Advanced Streaming Format) is a file format that stores audio and video information and is specially designed to run over networks like the Internet. 
You will need Windows Media Encoder. If you don't have it you can download it here Windows Media Technologies
move down the page to Windows Media Tools and Services and download Windows Media Tools. You will be using the Windows Media Encoder included in the tools. Install Windows Media Tools.
You can convert wavs or mp3s. They should be 128kps 44khz stereo for best results.
1. Choose your wav or mp3. I am using Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head by BJ Thomas. Filename (BJ_Thomas)-Raindrops_Keep_Falling_On_My_Head.mp3

2. Start Windows Media Encoder.
Click Template with I/O options:
Like below:


Click Okay.

3. Next set the Encoder Stream format as 28.8 Fm 
Radio Stereo. Like below:


Click next.

4. Next screen click AVI/WAV/MP3 Files
Like this:


Click next.

5. Now you browse and find your mp3 or wav. I have found the file we are using. It should look like this:

Click next.

6. Next you click where you want the data sent to.
Click - To a local ASF file. Like this:

Click next.

7. Next you choose a filename and a directory or folder to put the new asf file into. I use the original filename and just change the extension from mp3 to asf. I place the new file into a folder called ASF made. It will show a window saying the file doesn't exist. Create the file? Click yes.

Click Finish.

8. Click the triangle circled with the red circle.

9. The camera should turn green and the encoder will be encoding your file. 
Should look like this:

10. When the camera isn't green anymore the file is converted. The screen should look like this:

Click the close button the one circled red.
Small window will open click no.

11. Go to folder holding your new ASF. Listen and enjoy
If you need the script to add  asf to your stationery you can download it here. I will enclose one copy with the area you change in red as a html file. The script will be as a txt file. Place the script right before </BODY></HTML>
12. Okay now you need host or server to place the ASF file.
You can place the ASF on the server of your own choice.
13. Next you will either upload using the host's uploading page or you can use a FTP program to upload to the host's FTP server. I use WS_FTP LE which you can download from here.  Download WS_FTP LE 5.08 
Install WS_FTP LE.
14. If you are using the host's upload page seek their help pages if  you don't know how to use the upload page. I will step you through using the WS_FTP LE.

15. Open WS_FTP LE program. 

Click new and fill in the host name, the ftp address supplied by the host your User ID, and Your password.
Then click Okay.

16. Once you are connect with the FTP server the screen should look like this:

17. The left window is your computer and the right window is the host.  I set up a special folder to hold my ASFs. To do this click MkDir on the right and type in the name you want in the window then click okay.

18. Double click on the folder you just made. Now on the left side your computer click on the two dots at the top moves you out of a folder. Move to the folder that holds your ASF.  Find your ASF highlight it like below:

Once you have it highlighted blue click the arrow in the middle pointing to the host's side the right. The file will be uploaded to the host. Once the program tells you that it was uploaded successfully you can close the program. 

19. On your computer go to folder holding your new ASF. Listen and enjoy.  If you need the script to add  asf to your stationery you can double click on the two links. Copy both files.  AsfScriptExample.html and AsfScript.txt. The html copy shows the area you change in red. The script will be as a text file. Place the script right before </BODY></HTML>
20. With the script added to your stationery you will be able to hear your ASFs play, and so will others.
